I am a PhD research fellow in Physical Oceanography at the University of Bergen and the Bjerknes Centre for Climate Research. Based at the Geophysical Institute in Bergen, I am part of the GYRE-induced variability in North Atlantic circulation — Dynamics and impacts on overturning (GYRED) project.
Forskning
My current research focuses on quantifying the recirculation and variability within the Subpolar Gyre (SPG) versus the throughput towards the Nordic Seas across the Greenland-Scotland Ridge (GSR). I am particularly interested in elucidating the mechanisms that obscure meridional coherence in the AMOC system — an indicator of how strongly the circulation is correlated across latitudes. To address these questions, I use both Eulerian diagnostics and Lagrangian techniques, including the trajectory tool TRACMASS.
